The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology is an internationally recognized institution for the education of a highly skilled personnel required in the fields of forestry, wood processing and furniture production.

The intensive development of forestry teaching at university level is related to the year 1898 when  the higher education teaching starts at the Academy of Forestry within the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb.
Since then, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology has been constantly growing and systematically developing excellence in education and research in forestry, wood technology and related areas, which is based on the establishment of quality systems, on  the transfer and application of knowledge for the welfare and prosperity of all members of the community.

The Faculty, with its student-centred work priorities, and in collaboration with the sector of economy and public sector in Croatia and abroad, has been actively participating in the creation of knowledge and technologies in the field of Life and Environmental Sciences.

The Faculty of Forestry is an internationally recognized institution which offers a high level of education for careers in forestry, wood processing and furniture manufacture. The Faculty is a place for permanent education and for the development of an intellectual with a broad spectrum of knowledge, whose work is recognized not only in the professional field but also in the social life of Croatia. The Faculty draws on the celebrated past and activities of its forerunners. It is up to you to accept this and continue in the same vein. We are a renowned profession which has its written rules and values, but also unwritten rules which you will learn in practice. We are well known for our close collaboration and solidarity.
